Liquid cationic etherifying agent is a kind of widely used fine chemical product. Its chemical name is N-(3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl)-trimethlylammunium chloride (abbreviated as CTA). Its formula is C6H15NOCl2, molecular weight is 188.1.
The product is a kind of 69% solution at normal temperature. At basic conditions, it is immediately transformed into epoxy structure, and further reacts with such base materials as amylum and Guar gum to become cationic substances.
1, Quality Index:
(1) Appearance: colorless transparent liquid
(2)Active content: ≥69%
(3)Impurity: 1,3-dichloro propanol: ≤15PPM
(4)Epichlorohydrin: ≤5PPM
(5)PH (10% solution): 4-6
(6)Solubility: easy to solve in water and 2-propanol
2, Characteristics:
(1) With the quality stable, we adopt continuous production technology for the CTA.
(2)The reaction efficiency is high, which may reach to more than 80%
(3)The impurity content is less, which is not more than 20PPM.
3, Usage:
(1)Paper industry: It is mainly used as a liquid cationic etherifying agent to modify cellulose, cellulose derivatives and amylum. When reacted with amylum, cationic amylum can be produced, which can be used as an internal gel painting adhesive, paper strengthening as well as the aid for packing and fine fiber retention aid.
(2)Textile industry: the CTA can react with cotton fiber to improve the adhesion of the dyes. When reacted with amylum, cationic amylum can be produced, which can be used as a twist yarn sizing agent.
(3)Water treatment industry: The suspended substances in water present negative charges, so cartionic high moleculas produced by CTA are widely used as flocculants for water purification.
(4)Daily chemicals industry: The cationic guar gums, etc., produced by the reaction of guar gum and CTA, are an important daily chemical. |
